How to Name Your Business

Starting a Pizza Shop

Anytime you are dealing with food, the Health Department will be involved. They are a good place to contact first and may even be able to point you in other directions that you need to go.

Another point of contact would be the state's licensing board. They will advise you if you require any state licensing to get into business and likely tell you that you need to register your business with the state's Department of Corporations (which will require you to have your business name chosen already). It's important to know that there are also local requirements as far as registering your business goes, so contact the county or city (or both) depending on local requirements in order to get your business tax receipt and everything all registered.

Location Is Key

Now, location is a big thing to think about, especially since you are likely to have many, many competitors who are already pretty well-established in any given area. You will want to seek out a location that is in a busy area but situated a decent distance away from other pizza establishments.

Open for Business!

I know, personally, that I normally don't try out a new pizza place unless there's a menu placed at my door; otherwise, I never would have known about it! Pick a good name, advertise well, and your phone will be ringing with orders in no time!
