Breaking [ ]

A wooden button is hands broken with an axe, but drops itself as an detail if broken using whatever tool. A stone button must be mined with a pickaxe to driblet as an item.

A push is removed and drops every bit an particular if:

Usage [ ]

Redstone ability [ ]

A button can be used as a monostable power source (information technology automatically deactivates shortly after being activated).

Placement

Buttons can be placed by using it on a surface.

They can be attached to the side, bottom and top of any full opaque cake.

If placed on the superlative or bottom of a cake, the push button can confront whatever direction.‌[ Java Edition only ]

Information technology tin can also be attached to the top of a contend in Bedrock Edition.

Activation

Buttons are usually in an inactive state, but tin can be temporarily activated by players. A button can be activated by using information technology. A wooden push button can likewise be activated by a fired arrow or a thrown trident if its standoff box touched the button.

Mobs cannot activate buttons direct, but arrows fired past skeletons or dispensers tin can activate wooden buttons.

Behavior

When activated, a wooden push remains active for 15 redstone ticks (1.5 seconds, barring lag), while a stone push remains active for 10 redstone ticks (1 second, barring lag). A wooden button activated past a fired arrow or a thrown trident remains agile until the pointer or trident despawns (after one minute) or is picked upward by a player.

While active, a button:

  • powers any side by side redstone dust to power level 15, including beneath the button
  • powers whatever adjacent redstone comparators or redstone repeaters facing away from the push button to power level 15
  • strongly powers its zipper cake to ability level 15
  • activates whatsoever adjacent mechanism components, including higher up or beneath, such every bit pistons, redstone lamps, etc.
